This very tentative list consists of some of the best baseball players in Mississippi. If you know of any Division-I caliber players from your area that I have not included on my list, let me know about them.

PITCHERS
Jonathan Booker - Philadelphia HS.
Travis Bogue (Signed with Ole Miss) - 6-5, 210, Madison Central HS. Throws in the 84-86 mph range but projects to throw harder in college.
Jesse Carver (Signed with MSU) - 6-0, 185, Starkville HS. LHP. Tremendous breaking pitch and changes speed.
Mike Cashion (Signed with USM) - 6-2, 180, Clinton HS.
Cliff Davis (Signed with Alabama in football. Went pro.) - 6-6, 215, Eupora HS. Throws in the high 80's and low 90's.
Pat Ezell (Signed with USM) - 6-3, 175, Petal HS.
Jon Hancock (Signed with Ole Miss) - 6-5, 200, Tupelo HS. Throws in the lower 90's at times. Tyler Hunter - 6-6, 175, New Hope HS. Throws in low-80's.
Josh Johnson (Signed with MSU) - 6-1, 185, Caledonia HS. Throws in mid- to upper-80's. Has been clocked at 93 mph.
Justin Pigott (Signed with MSU) - 6-0, 175, Picayune HS.
Trent Posey - 5-8, 165, West Lauderdale HS. Also plays second base. During his freshman year he hit .331 and went 3-0. His sophomore year he went 7-1 on the mound hitting mid to high 80's on the JUGS radar gun.
Matthew Rozier (Signed with Meridian CC) - 6-2, 205, RHP, Carroll Academy. Excellent arm (87 mph average velocity. tops out at 89-90). Very good hitter. Also plays third base. Batted .459 as a sophomore. Pitched in two games in the 2001 Mississippi State Summer Games, winning one and saving the other.
Daniel Stephens (Signed with Holmes CC) - Ackerman HS.

CATCHERS
Brett Boykin - 5-11, 165, Deer Creek Academy. Great arm. 1.9 to second base. Very good hitter.
Collins Coltharp (Signed with Southwest Community College in Memphis) - 6-3, 200, New Albany HS.
Eli Dew (Walked on at MSU) - 6-0, 180, Kosciusko HS. Has been clocked throwing the ball in 1.88 seconds to second base.
Taylor Robertson - 6-1, 200, Oak Hill Academy. Has been clocked at 1.9 throwing to second base. Made the Varsity team as a freshman. Good power hitter. Can also play other positions.
Jon Still - 6-3 215, Madison Central. Played some with the varsity as a freshman which is very unusual for JP. Shows great potential as a hitter. Very good defensive skills. Hard worker who has the potential to be a big-time player.

INFIELDERS
Kody Bumpous (Signed with Hinds CC) - 6-2, 185, Olive Branch HS.
Chad Gatewood - 5-11, Hernando HS.
Justin Hamilton - Edinburg HS. Also pitches.
Ben Hargett - 6-1, 183, Pillow Academy (Greenwood). Plays shortstop.
Justin Henry (Signed with Ole Miss) - 6-3, 180, Vicksburg HS. Middle infielder.
Brett Jones - 6-2, 180, R.H. Watkins HS (Laurel). Brother, Lance, played for Ole Miss.
Alex McIntosh (Walked on at MSU) - 6-6, 200, Northwest Rankin HS. Also pitches (RHP). Excellent student. As a pitcher, throws in the mid-80's on the JUGS gun.
Kyle Mills (Signed with ICC) - Plays first base and outfield.
Nathan Mordecai - 5-9, 155, New Hope HS.
Jeffrey Rea (Signed with MSU) - 5-1, 175, Nettleton HS. Batted .613 as a junior. Great bat speed with surprising power. Runs the 60 in 6.7 seconds. High school coaches and major league baseball scouts that I have talked to are all very impressed with him.

OUTFIELDERS
Bruce Edwards (Signed with Auburn in football. Now plays baseball there.) - 5-10, 160, 4.4, Columbus HS. Louisville Slugger and Collegiate All-American at the end of his junior season.
Brandon Mabry (Signed with East Miss. CC) - 6-2, 185, Clarkdale HS.
