Canton Academy - Canton Academy made it to the playoffs behind the pitching of Johnathan Miller and senior-to-be catcher Miller Todd. Miller had a 1.72 ERA and struck out 121 batters in 70 innings. Todd batted .419. Both players were All-Conference selections.
Copiah Academy - Thomas Garland, a 5-11, 175-pound, senior-to-be catcher from Copiah Academy, recently was selected as an All-Conference catcher and Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive player on his baseball team. I have also been told that Ole Miss is showing interest in him.

Warren Central HS - Carl Upton, a 6-3, 230, junior pitcher/first baseman for WCHS, is 11-0 going into the championship game against Hattiesburg HS. He has struck out 69 in 681/3 innings and has walked just nine batters all year. He is batting .299 with 2 homers and 20 rbi's.

Northeast Jones HS (Laurel) - Northeast Jones HS has a possible prospect in senior-to-be Sean Woodland. Sean is 6-4, 165-pounds and runs the forty in 4.65 seconds, according to a source of mine. He plays both wide receiver and saftey and has started since his freshman year. He also played basketball for Northeast Jones.
Amanda Elzy HS (Greenwood) - Ricardo Wilson, a 5-11, 165-pound, senior-to-be wide receiver, finished last season, his first to play football, with 8 touchdowns receptions and 667 yards receiving.

Kate Griffin Junior HS (Meridian) - According to a source of mine, KGJHS has a basketball player by the name of Jeremy Scott who has talent. He is 6-4 and 185 pounds and will be a sophomore next season.

Humphreys Academy (Belzoni) - Shelton Aycock finished a superb sophomore football season rushing for well over 500 yards on just 47 carries, which included 10 touchdowns. One of his best games was a 4-carry, 126-yard first half performance. Two of his four attempts were long touchdown runs of 58 and 66 yards. He also finished the season with 91 tackles. His best game may have been his 16 tackles and 127 yards rushing against Strider Academy. He was selected to the All-Conference team as well.
While running track this season, he boosted his weight from 170 pounds to 180. His bench press has also increased to 265 pounds. He recently won the district track meet in the 100 and 200 meters with times of 11.2 and 23.08, respectively. He also came in fourth in the long jump with a best distance of 19-6.
Florence HS - Florence High School was the 2001 division 4-AAAA football champions with a 11-2 record.
