08/17/01 - Adams County Christian School right-handed pitcher Christopher Rayborn, 6-3, 175, is one of the top senior baseball players in the state of Mississippi this year. This summer he has competed in invitation-only high school showcases Team One at Clemson University and East Coast Professional Baseball in Wilmington, North Carolina. Christopher, who will turn 18 on August 19, has already made a qualifying ACT score and is doing very well in the classroom. Ole Miss is recruiting him the hardest but he has heard from Mississippi State and Southern Miss. So far, he has set up one official visit (Southern Miss.). His average fastball velocity is 86-87 but he has topped out at 90 mph.

Christopher has a teammate who bears watching this coming baseball season. Boo Burchfield is a 5-9, 175-pound junior catcher who has a great arm. This past season, he batted .488 with 6 home runs. He also plays linebacker in football.

Parklane Academy (McComb) - A second source has confirmed that Clarion-Ledger Preseason Top 40 Recruit Adam Dossett (OL, 6-4, 260) did comit to Vanderbilt this past weekend. Adam is an excellent student who plans on going into pre-med.
