Columbia HS - Senior-to-be running back Cory Jones, one of the top running backs in the south, has had a very productive summer so far. He was chosen as the most outstanding senior back at the University of Notre Dame football camp last week. He also ran the fastest time - 4.40 - in the 40 and won the "Smokehouse Award." Cory has also ran a 4.42 at Alabama's senior camp and a 4.38 at the Ole Miss senior camp. Cory will attend the USM camp this Saturday. This past week he also visited Marshall and West Virginia, both of which have already made official offers. He has also been contacted by two national publications about possible selection on their pre-season All-American teams.
Caledonia HS - Junior-to-be point guard Derrick Westbrook was selected to the Mississippi team that will participate in the USA Junior Nationals Championship Sports Festival on July 8-14. Derrick averaged 17.9 points per game last season.

Horn Lake HS - According to Coach Dave Wilkerson, here is his list of players to watch.
Donald Thornton, senior, DE/OLB, 6-3, 220, 4.7 - 325 bench, 500+ squat. Being looked at by Ole Miss, USM, MSU and Memphis. Good student.
Danny Canizaro, senior, QB, 6-1, 180, 4.8 - Excellent student who is also an excellent on-the-field general. Teams looking at him include Duke, Ga. Tech, and the Ivy League schools.
Matt Tindall, senior, OT, 6-4, 290, 5.3 - Good feet. Receiving looks from Auburn and Ole Miss.
Patrick Jones, senior, WR, 6-1, 170, 4.6 - Great work habits, great routes, team player.
Timmy Jones, senior, FS, 6-1, 180, 4.55 - Big hitter.
Andrew Harris, junior, RB/WR, 5-9, 170, 4.5 - Great athlete, tremendous quickness.
Brandon Jackson, junior, RB, 6-1, 205, 4.5 - Excellent quickness, benches 300, great player per Southaven HS coach.
Bobby Wilson, junior, WR, 6-1, 170, 4.5 - Great speed, good hands, good routes.

Adam Nester, senior, WB/FS, 5-9, 178, 4.45 - 10.8 100 meters, 320 bench, 6 interceptions.
Justin Bursi, senior, MLB, 6-3, 235 - Being heavily recruited. Style of play similar to former NFL great Dick Butkus.
Brandon Hunt, senior, WR, 6-1, 188, 4.5 - Being looked at by Memphis, Arkansas State and others.

Antar Chestnut, senior, QB, 6-1, 215, 4.65 - Will play QB out of necessity. Great hands, tremendous power, very coachable. Arkansas, Southern Miss and Ole Miss showing interest.
Carl Wilson, senior, WR, 5-10, 165, 4.45 - Wide Receiver. Tremendous speed, excellent hands, great runner after catching the ball.
Ricardo Hill, senior, FB, 5-10, 185, 4.55/4.60 - Very tough runner, very hard-nosed, very physical.
Corey Rollins, senior, MLB, 6-0, 210, 4.8 - Very good middle linebacker.
MC Hilson, junior, OT/DT, 6-4.5, 265 - Very good foot mechanics. Ole Miss coaches really liked him at the recent camp.
Jeffery Brewer, junior, TB, 6-2, 190, 4.5 - Track star, very quick start off the ball.
Markeith Westmoreland, sophomore, CB, 5-6, 165, 10.2 100 meters - Extremely fast, first time to play football was this past spring.
Cleveland Gibson, sophomore, CB, 6-1, 170, 4.5 - Just a shade slower than Westmoreland. 220 meters speedster.

Caledonia HS - Sam Pounders is a 5-8, 165-pound, junior wide receiver from Caledonia High School. According to my source, Sam, as a sophomore, ran a 4.54 forty, benched 210, and squatted 355. In baseball he pitches and plays centerfield.
