Starkville HS - Although his team is currently in the playoffs, Jamile Owens wound up with 85 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries (1 for a touchdown return of 76 yards) during the regular season.

Newton County HS - According to a source or mine, Newton County HS has at least a couple of prospects on their team.

  • Will Pearson - 6-1, 190, 4.7, senior linebacker. Led his team in tackles.
  • Taylor Nichols - 6-0, 180, senior kicker/punter.
  • 11/14/03 - Here are a couple of prospects from the Madison and Ridgeland areas.

  • Madison Central HS - Mark Brown is a 5-11, 205-pound, junior linebacker who, prior to last week's game, had recorded 96 tackles. He is an honor roll student.
  • Ridgeland HS - Anthony Wilson is a 6-3, 190-pound, junior defensive end who finished his season with 92 tackles. Running a 4.7 forty yard dash, Anthony projects as a linebacker on the next level.

  • St. Martin HS - Offensive lineman Jacob Miller (6-4, 310, 5.3), a three-year starter, is one of the top prospects on the Mississippi Gulf Coast this season. He has a 380 bench press, 450 squat and is doing very well academically with a 20 ACT and 3.3 GPA. He attended numerous camps this past summer, including the prestigious Nike Camp, as well as college camps at MSU, LSU, USM and Ole Miss. Selected to the Sun-Herald's preseason top 25 prospects list and the Clarion-Ledger's preseason top 100 seniors list, Jacob is receiving letters from several colleges, including SEC schools LSU, MSU and Ole Miss. Southeastern Louisiana University is showing the most interest at this time, although several other colleges have recently received tapes of his and are currently evaluating his potential.

I attended the Ackerman at Okolona high school football game last night. Here are a few players that you will hear from in the future.

Ackerman HS - Junior QB Ryan Miller, 6-0, 185, showed a very good arm, good accuracy, and nice mobility. Senior running back Shamarrick Webster, 5-9, 200, showed good speed and a lot of power running the ball.

Okolona HS - Junior running back/defensive back Andrew Eddie, 5-10, 200, was very impressive running the ball. He showed very, very good quickness. He also made some clutch tackles in the secondary. He is receiving letters from Ole Miss. Also keep your eye out for 9th grader Willie Pulphus. He is a 6-1, 270-pound lineman. I was told that his dad is 6-6, so don't be surprised if he grows some more.
