09/30/99 - Houston HS beat the 4-0 Bruce Trojans last Friday night 25-22. Houston scored with one minute left to go ahead. Bruce, a senior laden team, played very well. Houston's outstanding junior running back Shane Stafford has missed the last two games with a knee injury, but should return for the division games. Houston has a senior linebacker/running back named Matt Childs (5-11, 195, 4.5-4.6, 4.0 student) who is playing very well this season. According to my source, it wouldn't surprise him if Matt's name starts appearing on recruiting lists.

Reed Hawkins had a double for the Stars in the low scoring game.
09/29/99 - The Madison Central Jaguars improved to 5-0 last week as they defeated Callaway 52-8. The offensive line is really impressive with three possible D-1 players: Doug Buckles (6-6 275), Chris Spencer (6-4, 295), and Jerry Eckhart (6-2 265). "Bobo" Brown, who is averaging 9.9 yards a carry, is leading 5A in rushing. Mike Espy continues to amaze people with his pass catching ability. Defensively, the Jaguars are led by senior linebacker Cody Upton, who had 18 tackles against Callaway. The secondary, which is playing well, is led by senior strong safety A. J. Ray and junior free safety Chamar McDonald. The defensive line is new this year but is playing great while being led by Cedric Smith, a 6-3, 260-lb. junior who is very athletic.

09/17/99 - According to a source of mine, Ruleville Central has a junior running back, Noah Ingram, who has rushed for over 200 yards in each of Ruleville Central's first three games this season. In their latest game, a 22-20 loss to Indianola Gentry, Ingram had 267 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Ruleville Central also has a senior middle linebacker named Tim Jones who is very good. In the Gentry game, he registered 23 tackles.
09/14/99 - You had better watch Calhoun City HS this football season. I have been told there are several players that have the potential to be heavily recruited this year and the next few years. All of you already know about Sherron Moore and Cornelius Wortham. They are just the tip of the ice burg. Here are a few more you will be hearing about.

09/04/99 - New Hope HS has a player who bears watching over the new couple of years. Robbie Curry is a 6-2, 290-lb junior offensive lineman/defensive end who, according to my source, is very strong and moves well for a guy his size.
09/02/99 - According to a source of mine, Jordan Lesley, a 6-3, 220-lb linebacker from Itawamba Agriculture HS, has been contacted by most of the SEC schools. My source also told me Jordan, who is an excellent student and a member of the FCA, has unofficially visited Ole Miss a couple of times.
