02/13/00 - The MACJC Tournament will be held this coming week at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville (North Division) and Hinds Community College in Utica (South Division).
Favorites are the Northeast men and Northwest women in the North and the Co-Lin men and women in the South.
South Tournament features Jaeson Maravich at Gulf Coast (son of Pistol Pete) and Neil Broome of Pearl River. They are two of the best to come through the league in a long time. A few weeks ago when they played, Bromme had 45 and Maravich 42 in a shootout.
Thanks to one of you for this information.
02/04/00 - Matthew Holeman, a diamond in the rough? That is what one of my sources calls him. According to my source, this kid, out of Yazoo City, would have been one of the top lineman in the state last year had he been 6-5 rather than 6-1. He didn't get an offer from State or Ole Miss so he took a scholarship offer from Holmes CC and starred there this past season. He is 6-1, weighs 285-lbs, runs a 4.9, benches 460, has a lot of heart, smart (honor role at Holmes and Yazoo High School) and just a great kid. This is a youngster who bears watching this coming season.
