12/31/02 - Baseball America ranked three of MSU's pitchers among the top 75 college prospects eligible for the MLB draft coming up in the summer.
Paul Maholm was ranked the 9th best college player overall, while redshirt sophomore Todd Nicholas, who had an outstanding fall for the Bulldogs, was ranked 52nd and junior Jonathan Papelbon was ranked 75th.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Registration is under way for the Sixth Annual Mississippi State Baseball Winter Camps, to be held the weekends of Jan. 11-12 and Jan. 18-19 on the Mississippi State University campus.
Members of the Mississippi State baseball team and coaching staff along with college and high school baseball coaches and professional baseball scouts from the area will serve as instructors for the daily camp sessions.
The opening weekend sessions are open to campers in first through eighth grade and feature a pitcher/catcher camp (Jan. 11) and a hitter's camp (Jan. 12). The high school camp (grades 9-12) is scheduled the following weekend and includes a hitter's camp (Jan. 18) and pitcher/catcher and defensive skills camp (Jan. 19).
Each camp session opens with registration at 8 a.m. at the Shira Fieldhouse and concludes at 4:30 p.m.
