08/15/98 - The Malouf Construction Company's equipment has been moved in and they will begin construction on the baseball stadium expansion in a day or two. They should be through with the sky boxes by the beginning of the season but the additional chairback seats probably won't be ready until several days into the season.
BTW, the first baseball game will be played on February 13th. This is the earliest home baseball game MSU has ever played. State will play an 8-game home stand at the beginning of the season. Of their 55 regular season games, State will also play 34 games at home next season.
Sorry for no updates on any of the other skuttle-butts. I ran out of time due to having to get up very early to go to the 8 a.m. football practice so that I could report on it for you guys. I will have a complete Bulldog Club Meeting and practice report for you Sunday morning. Pictures too, I hope.

Collums led ECS to a 26-5 overall record and the school's second Division II state championship in the last three years. The 6-4, 180-pound left-hander finished with a 10-0 record for the year and an overall 29-3 career record. Collums has been an All-State performer for three years and was named Best of Preps Baseball Player of the Year. He also played first base, hitting .477 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs. He has signed with Mississippi State University."
