1998-1999 Mississippi State Basketball Recruiting Prospects

  • Ontario Harper (Signed with MSU but went the prep school route) - 6-5, 190, G/F, Winchendon Prep School (MA) via Clinton HS (MS). One of the top 2 players in Mississippi his senior year.
  • Antonio Jackson (Signed with MSU) - 6-5, 185, PG, Butler County Community College (El Dorado, Kansas). Juco recruiting analyst Rick Ball listed Antonio as the 3rd best Juco player in the country in the preseason. Graduated from MSU.
  • Jason Johnson (Signed with MSU but went the prep school route) - 6-7.5, 235, F, St. Al. (Vicksburg, MS.). Will, most likely, attend prep school for one year. Did not resign with MSU.
  • Jamario Moon (Signed with MSU but did not qualify)- 6-7, WF, Coosa Central HS (Rockford, AL). One of the top players in Alabama. Most likely will wind up in prep school or juco. Did not resign with MSU.
  • Trey Sanders (Signed with MSU) - 6-4, 190, PG, Jim Hill HS (Jackson, MS). Considered the 3rd best player in Mississippi by several experts. Left MSU after his freshman year.
  • Lincoln Smith (Signed with MSU) - 6-9.5, 252, C, Simmons (Hollandale, MS) HS. Good hands and feet for a man his size.
  • Derrick Zimmerman (Signed with MSU) - 6-2, 185, SG, Wossman (Monroe, LA) HS. Rated as the nation's No. 31 senior player by Recruiting USA and the No. 10 senior shooting guard in the country by FullCourt magazine.
