06/29/05 - Former MSU basketball player Lawrence Roberts was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Seattle Sonics and a few minutes later traded to Memphis. Roberts was the 55th player selected. MSU signee Monta Ellis of Lanier (MS) HS was also selected in the second round by the Golden State Warriors. He was drafted 40th.
