07/23/99 - While at the Sanderson Rec Center a couple of evenings ago, a source of mine noticed several of our basketball players playing basketball in the center. Todd Myles, Michael Gholar, Marckell Patterson and Robert Jackson were the players. My source noticed that Gholar really seemed to shooting the ball better than he did last season. He also said that Patterson looked really good. All the players looked to be in good shape and playing really hard.

07/19/99 - Look for a couple of these Mississippi players who played in the Colonnade All-Star Basketball Camp in Birmingham, AL. recently, to be high on State's recruiting list in the next two years.

  • Kenny Boyd - 6-8, junior-to-be from Kemper County HS. According to my source, Kenny was one of the top big men at the camp. Has only played one year of organized ball but showed great potential.
  • Chris Davis - 5-10, sophomore-to-be from Kemper County HS. One of the more consistent 3-point shooters at the camp. Reached the semifinals of the 3-point Shootout.
  • John Pilger - 5-8, senior-to-be from Ocean Springs HS. According to my source, very athletic and a great competitor.
  • 07/10/99 - Thanks to one of you for emailing this info to me. Thought all of you would enjoy reading it.

"I am writing you to tell you about a TV show that I saw the other night that might interest you. The name of it was "The World's Most Amazing Videos" or something to that effect. Anyway, one of the videos was of a brawl that occurred after a New York state championship basketball game. The videop showed a young man receive an inbound pass, dribble the length of the court, and make a game-winning three pointer as the buzzer was sounding. The crowd went crazy and stormed the court. The losing fans didn't care for the celebration much and a brawl ensued. The players, and fans of the two teams were going at it. It was pure chaos with chairs flying and all. You may be wondering why this may interest you. The young man who dribbled the length of the court and sank that three-pointer was our very own Todd Myles.

"The show had an interview of Todd and the show also showed a press conference that took place after the game. Supposedly the press conference was to show the great sportsmanship of Todd Myles and one of the players from the other team. The TV show depicted Todd very well as a good person and a good sport."

07/06/99 - Don't be surprised to see former Bulldog Eric Dampier signing a 55 to 65 million dollar contract with Golden State sometime this week.

07/03/99 - Former Bulldog Dontae Jones scored 43 points to help the Sixers, of the Bluff City Classic Basketball League, defeat the Knicks. My source, who saw part of the game on a local Memphis cable access channel, said Dontae looked great and the announcers were very impressed with him.

07/01/99 - Former Bulldog Tyrone Washington was selected in the 2nd round (44th player selected) of the NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. Good luck Tyrone from your fellow Bulldogs.

Almost MSU Bulldog Jonathan Bender was selected 5th in the 1st round.

07/01/99 - I'm still not completely sure former Parade All-American point guard Greedy Daniels will be transferring to MSU, but just in case, click here to go to his bio that one of you found on the UNLV webpage.
