12/27/02 - According to the Commercial Dispatch (Columbus, MS), MSU commitment Quinton McCrary is not so sure about his commitment to MSU. He was quoted in the newspaper as saying that he is now considering MSU and Memphis and would make a decision in January. His reconsideration is due to the firing of former MSU defensive coordinator Joe Lee Dunn.

12/23/02 - Werner J. "Dutch" Luchsinger is being inducted into the Mississippi State Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame in Jackson, MS on January 3rd. The induction will be at noon at the Clarion Hotel.

12/20/02 - Recruiting update.

I talked to David Heard (CB, Vicksburg HS) last night. He confirmed that he has signed with MSU. I was also told by a source of mine that Chris Swain (S, Jones JC) has signed with MSU. Although I haven't been able to confirm that Deljuan Robinson has signed, I have been told by two very reliable sources that he will be attending MSU in the spring.

MSU's new defensive line coach made quite an impression with Collins High School defensive lineman Corey Clark is what I'm hearing. On tape, Corey is one of the best defensive linemen that I have seen on tape this year. He moves extremely well for a man that is about 6-2, 300 pounds.

MSU is in a battle with Ole Miss for the services of Seminary High School defensive back Corey Cooley. Corey is 6-1.5, 180 and runs a 4.5 forty.

12/19/02 - Recruiting update.

I talked to Linzy Patterson's mother, Sylvia Patterson, last night. She told me that Linzy has a scholarship offer from Mississippi State. Linzy, who played for Amory High School, is considered one of the top tight ends in Mississippi this year. He made the MAC 3A All-State First Team as a Tight End.

12/05/02 - Recruiting update.

Kudos go out to Rockey Felker who is on the recruiting front. With a staff shortage, coach Rockey Felker has been hard at work on the recruiting front talking to players in Greenville and Caledonia (Desmond Sherrod) among others.

I haven't been able to confirm this but I have heard that MSU had an in-home visit with Omarr Conner Wednesday night.
